The exhibition “Le blason des temps nouveaux. Signes, emblèmes et couleurs dans la France de la Renaissance” has been unveiled yesterday at the Musée national de la Renaissance in the Château d’Écouen (Val-d’Oise, France), being available to public between 19 October 2022 and 6 February 2023.
The exhibition displays one hundred heraldic artefacts, illustrating not only the main techniques (sculpture, painting, tapestry, metalwork, stained glass, etc.), but also a large series of social themes (royalty, women, nobility, bourgeoisie, clergy and laity, corporations).
The scientific commission of the exhibition has been insured by Thierry Crépin-Leblond (director of the Musée national de la Renaissance), by Laurent Hablot, AIH (director of research at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes), and also by Anne Ritz-Guilbert (researcher at the Centre de Recherche de l’Ecole du Louvre).
