Heraldic Exhibition “Les Armoiries, figures et couleurs de notre identité”

The exhibition “Les Armoiries, figures et couleurs de notre identité” has been unveiled yesterday, 5 November 2022, at the Musée de l’Hôtel-Dieu in Porrentruy (canton of Jura, Switzerland).

The exhibition features several dozens of coats of arms connected with Jura. The achievements are intended to illustrate different ‘circles’: the family, the commune, the district, the canton and the country. Most of the objects are belonging to the museum, or were borrowed by different public archives, but private people also contributed to the exhibition, lending their own armorial achievements (as a result of a media campaign).

The exhibition is connected with the volume L’Armorial du Jura, by our colleague Nicolas Vernot, AIH, a book that will be soon published by the Société jurassienne d’émulation (SJE).
