An invitation from the Dutch Heraldic Society:
The Dutch Heraldic Society organizes an annual Heraldic Day (Salon d’Héraldique) at a suitable location. This year the choice fell on one of Europe’s most beautiful city palaces, the Markiezenhof in Bergen op Zoom.
Saturday 7 October 2023 you are welcome in the court hall, where the 16th-century lords and marquises received their guests. You can attend some lectures and a Heraldic Market that day.
The program will be announced later via society-heraldiek.nl/heraldische-dag-7-oktober.
The Markiezenhof belongs to a top location of the National Built Heritage Conservation. It is one of the most beautiful late Gothic city palaces in Western Europe. In the court hall is the 15,000 kg Christoffel Fire Place from 1521, designed by the sculptor Rombout Keldermans. On this fireplace, and on the windows, are coats of arms connected to the original inhabitants.
Reservations for this day (as an exhibitor or visitor) can be made via the chairman Hans Duitgenius – e-mail: duit77@gmail.com.
Participation as a visitor is final after receipt of a payment of a share in the organizational costs:
